Civil Project Superintendent

We are currently recruiting a Civil
Project Superintendent to join our team in Alberta. This role requires strong leadership skills, experience in managing construction sites, and the ability to coordinate subcontractors, schedules, and site safety to ensure successful project delivery.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and supervise all on-site construction personnel and subcontractors
  • Interpret and coordinate construction plans, specifications, and schedules
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and secure work environment in compliance with all safety standards and codes
  • Oversee quality control and ensure adherence to building codes and regulations
  • Manage project costs, budgets, and resource allocation (labor, materials, equipment)
  • Conduct regular site meetings with clients, engineers, and key stakeholders
  • Prepare and maintain accurate project documentation, reports, and daily logs
  • Foster positive working relationships with clients, subcontractors, and vendors
  • Identify and resolve project challenges and risks in a proactive and timely manner
  • Perform additional related duties as required
Requirements
  • Minimum 5+ years' experience managing civil projects with engineered work packages
  • Proven ability to supervise multiple crews and manage job site operations
  • Skilled in client communication and relationship management
  • Strong understanding of safety practices with a commitment to a culture of safety and performance
  • Ability to interpret and break down technical drawings for field crews
  • Effective in scheduling manpower and equipment
  • Estimating and budgeting skills are considered an asset
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Professional, positive attitude with a willingness to learn and grow within a team
  • Experience handling job site incidents and following proper reporting procedures
  • Must pass pre-employment alcohol and drug test including cannabis
