Wood is currently seeking an Intermediate Instrumentation & Controls Engineer or Technologist to join our business within Bio Products and Oil and Gas sector focusing on delivering some of the biggest projects in the Canadian oilsands. This opportunity is Hybrid.
The Role
Wood is seeking an Intermediate Instrumentation & Controls Engineer or Technologist in Sarnia, ON to join our busy and growing Canada Projects team due to growth in our business within Bio Products and Oil and Gas.

Competitive salary with regular salary reviews to ensure we are rewarding at the right level in line with the market. Salary range for this position is CAD $85,000 - $128,000 per year. Final salary will be based on relevant and applicable experience, education, and the specific skill set and qualifications required for the role.

Responsibilities
Typical responsibilities
Assure compliance with Engineering Procedures and quality control standards
Interfacing with various engineering disciplines and suppliers.
Project Execution may include but not limited to:
Specify, select and size field instrumentation (Pres/Temp/Flow/Level), Control Valves, on/off valves and PSV’s.
Prepare and review instrument lists (I/O, instrument index, load lists, etc)
Development of Material take offs (MTO’s)
Selection and procurement of controls hardware (DCS/PLC/FGS)
Prepare and check Instrument Loop diagrams as well as control cabinet design / wiring
Responsible for performing squad check of vendor data and drawings from other disciplines
Provide input to P&t
Design, development, and technical content of the I&C portion of project work
Have frequent contact with vendors
Plan, coordinate and prepare Material
Requisition s, Technical Bid Evaluations and award recommendations for various equipment within instrumentation and controls.

Expected
Instrumentation Technologist / Bachelors in Science, Engineering from an accredited University or College.
Minimum of 4 + yrs. Industry experience
Good understanding and familiarity of API, ASME and CSA, codes and directives.
Existing experience in the Bio Products or Oil and Gas sector is preferred
Ability to problem-solve effectively
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Desirable
Experience in the use of AVEVA Instrumentation or Smart Plant Instrumentation is an asset.
Registration through PEO, EGBC or APEGA is an asset.
