Overview
Preston Phipps is looking for a technical, entrepreneurial, relationship‑driven sales engineer to grow our presence across Central Canada. In this role, you’ll become a trusted advisor to contractors, consultants, and end users — helping them design, optimize, and maintain high‑performance mechanical systems in hospitals, universities, industrial plants, and research facilities.

What You’ll Own- Grow revenue within an established territory of contractors, consultants, and end users
- Build deep working knowledge of customer mechanical systems, decision processes, and project cycles
- Lead technical discussions, design support, and product recommendations for engineering consultants
- Conduct takeoffs and interpret specifications, drawings, and schedules for project tenders
- Educate contractors on product applications and help them win projects
- Support end users in optimizing system performance, safety, and lifecycle cost
- Collaborate with other account managers to support multi‑location and national accounts
- Develop strong relationships with Preston Phipps manufacturing partners and internal divisions
- Prioritize in‑person meetings and field engagement to drive territory activity and visibility
- 5+ years of technical sales experience working with contractors, consultants, and end users
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering (or equivalent industry experience)
- Experience with steam, hot water, hydronics, or laboratory critical air systems is an asset
- Strong command of the sales process: prospecting, qualifying, discovery, bridging and closing
- Excellent communication, follow‑up, and project‑tracking discipline
- High technical acumen and problem‑solving ability
- A proactive, entrepreneurial mindset with a commitment to territory activity
- Valid driver’s licence and clean driving record
