Purpose
We are currently recruiting for a Senior Structural Engineer in the Chemical and Fuel business for our Sarnia office. The role will involve leading design and engineering activities for oil and gas brown‑field projects within the Sarnia region.
Responsibilities
Work independently at an advanced level, completing a wide variety of assignments through the application of advanced engineering theories.
Provide discipline supervision for one larger or multiple smaller projects.
Apply knowledge of relevant regulations, codes, nuclear standards and industry practices to the control, development, and application of deliverables.
Conduct regular visits to client sites as required.
What you will bring
Lead level experience in structural engineering, specifically on oil and gas brown‑field projects.
Strong background in regulations, codes, manufacturing standards, and industry practices.
Proficiency in estimating project costs and leading teams of engineers and designers.
Experience in design management, project execution, and leadership.
Skilled with STAAD PRO or equivalent structural analysis software.
Excellent communication, organization, and analytical skills.
Ability to conduct site visits as needed.
Other discipline specific job knowledge will include
Experience with grassroots and brown‑field projects.
Structural design for foundations, steel, concrete, and masonry.
Perform structural integrity reviews based on sound engineering principles.
Knowledge of national building codes and relevant regulations.
Leadership experience within structural engineering teams.
Education – Qualifications, Accreditation, Training
Required:
Must be a member with Professional Engineers of Ontario.
Salary range (Ontario)
$123,491 to $181,605 CAD. Compensation varies by qualifications, experience, location, internal equity, and market conditions.
