V is seeking a skilled Load Test Engineer to execute and supervise load testing operations within oil & gas facilities. The role focuses on ensuring lifting equipment, cranes, rigging systems, and structural components meet safety, regulatory, and operational standards.
Reporting To
Operations Manager / Technical Director
Key Responsibilities
Perform static and dynamic load testing on lifting equipment and structures
Prepare method statements, risk assessments, and test procedures
Interpret engineering drawings and load calculations
Ensure compliance with Canadian safety and industry regulations
Generate detailed test reports and certification documentation
Education & Qualification
Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related field
Certification in lifting inspection or load testing (preferred)
Knowledge of Canadian OH&S standards
Experience
Minimum 3–5 years in load testing, lifting inspection, or heavy industrial operations
Experience in oil & gas, refinery, or petrochemical environments
Technical Skills
Load calculation and stress analysis
Hydraulic testing systems operation
Familiarity with CSA / industry lifting standards
Strong documentation and reporting skills
