Salary Range: $70,073.00 - $87,591.00 (commensurate with experience)

Job Title: Commercial Analyst (1 year Contract)

Location: Hybrid option available - weekly in office expectation at one of our administration locations (Strathroy or Sarnia).

Preferred Qualification :
Agricultural lending experience is considered a strong asset. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in farm lending, including agricultural construction and farm credit analysis.

The Commercial Analyst supports the growth, quality and risk management of Mainstreet Credit Union’s commercial and agricultural lending portfolio through credit analysis, underwriting, annual reviews, portfolio monitoring and credit-administration activities.

Working closely with Commercial and Business Experience Teams, Commercial Lending Administration and Credit Risk, the role prepares and analyzes credit applications, assesses financial performance and repayment capacity, identifies material credit risks and develops clear credit recommendations that align with Mainstreet’s credit policies, delegated authorities, risk appetite and regulatory requirements.

The Commercial Analyst contributes to portfolio quality by completing timely annual reviews, monitoring assigned credit relationships, escalating emerging concerns and maintaining accurate, complete and audit-ready credit files.

The role reports to the Commercial Lending Manager and receives functional technical direction from the Senior Commercial Analyst on underwriting standards, transaction structure and complex credit matters.

• Work collaboratively with Relationship Managers to understand member needs and develop credit recommendations that appropriately balance those needs with repayment capacity, policy requirements and Mainstreet’s risk appetite.
