FTE: 1.0 Full-time
PROGRAM: Long Term Care
REPORTING TO: Nurse Manager
The Licensed Practical Nurse contributes to the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of resident care while applying the nursing practice standards set by the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). The Licensed Practical Nurse provides appropriate and safe care to residents, encourages independence and self-care, and performs other duties as requested.
PROFESSIONAL & PERSONAL QUALITIES- Current registration and in good standing with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta.
- Other certifications/competencies as required by the registering body and the organization.
- Current CPR certification, to be re‑certified annually.
- Current First Aid certification, to be re‑certified every two years.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to provide effective interaction between all persons, including coworkers.
- Effective organizational skills.
- Work within a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Ability to:
- Function independently and effectively in a dynamic environment.
- Multi‑task in a demanding environment
- Maintain and/or improve the personal health and well‑being of residents.
- Able to provide and receive constructive feedback.
- Salary Grid as established by BTDH.
