Role SummaryUnder close supervision, conducts internal quality controls to ensure established quality procedures and norms are followed. Conducts routine quality analysis and tests/inspections of a quality control program, where duties and tasks are standardized. Monitors and records inconsistencies with quality procedures and norms. Prepares standard quality analyses and recommends necessary quality procedure changes. Records and analyzes customer claims. Learning role with 1 to 2 years of experience.
Write-UpInspectors
Inspect inbound railcar repairs to create a complete bill of material and comprehensive record of regulatory compliant / customer required repairs.
Responsibilities- Complete daily assignment of inspections, mechanical repair estimate entries, and/or complete estimate submittals.
- Review completed estimate packages for accuracy and completeness.
- Validation and incorporation of supplemental repairs into final billing.
- Develop ability to thoroughly inspect railcars, identifying regulatory and customer required repairs while maintaining understanding of repair processes, estimation processes, regulatory and customer standards, and maintaining current certifications for all required inspection techniques.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- A minimum of 1 year experience in Inspection / Quality position.
- Proven safety performance record.
- Proficient in MS Office.
- Demonstrated decision making and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent time management and communication skills.
- Detail-oriented and committed to quality.
- Proven ability to achieve results.
- Experience / working knowledge of railcar repair techniques and procedures, car construction, welding techniques, blasting, coating, AAR and DOT rules and regulations would be considered a strong asset.
