Payroll Accountant

Position: City Payroll Accountant Role
Join the City of Saskatoon as a Staff Accountant specializing in payroll operations. This role emphasizes financial analysis and compliance in a large ERP environment.

Under the supervision of the Financial Analyst II, you will coordinate, evaluate, and maintain essential payroll information. Candidates should have experience with SAP S4/HANA and understand payroll accounting and budgeting procedures. Your analytical skills and attention to detail will ensure accurate reporting and adherence to timelines.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in preparing financial reports and reconciliations for payroll

• Directly ensure accounting processes meet required deadlines

• Analyze budget controls and retain accurate data

• Support record maintenance in the City’s ERP payroll system

• Prepare general ledger accounts and complete remittances

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

• Minimum of three years in payroll and financial analysis

• Extensive knowledge of ERP systems, particularly SAP S4/HANA

• An asset:
Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) designation

• Skilled in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, for data analysis
