The Gabriel Dumont Institute of Native Studies and Applied Research invites applications for the following Casual Administrative employment positions:
The Casual Administrative Assistant will be responsible for ensuring quality administrative support to Gabriel Dumont Institute through effective communication, organization and technical skill.
1. Dumont Technical Institute – 1 Position
Responsibilities: Under the direction of the DTI Program Support Manager, duties will include but not be limited to: assisting with student recruitment; ordering, collecting, recording and organizing program resources; preparing monthly reports on activities conducted; and other duties as assigned.
2. Gabriel Dumont Institute Training & Employment – 1 Position
Responsibilities: Under the direct supervision of the Director of GDI T&E and/or Employment Services Manager; duties will include but not be limited to: special projects, office coverage, representation of GDI at provincial events, organizing resources; general office duties and other duties as assigned.
3. Gabriel Dumont Institute Culture & Heritage – 1 Position
Responsibilities: Reporting to the Director of Métis Culture and Heritage, duties will include but not be limited to: researching, museum maintenance, material production, ordering, collecting, recording and organizing program resources, preparing monthly reports on activities conducted and other duties as assigned.
4. Gabriel Dumont Institute – Human Resources – 1 Position
Responsibilities: Reporting to the HR Program Head, duties will include assisting the HR/Payroll dept with general office duties, special projects, updating electronic file resources and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: The ideal candidate would possess excellent public communication and interpersonal skills; good report writing and general computer skills; will be flexible and highly motivated. A demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with Institute staff and other external agencies; extensive understanding of Métis culture.
