Job Overview
Location:
Saskatoon Central Claims Centre. Full‑time, permanent position requiring 100% in‑office presence with occasional day and overnight travel. Work schedule is on an extended hours rotational basis:
Tuesday to Friday 12:00‑8:00p.m. and Saturday 8:00a.m.‑4:30p.m.

General Accountability The Appraiser examines and evaluates vehicle condition, estimates actual cash value (ACV) for total loss or repair, and determines repair costs, incorporating judgement throughout the approval process.
Responsibilities Identify make and model, record vehicle details.
Inspect, diagnose, analyze and list damaged vehicle parts, determining if damage is accident related.
Determine depreciation on damaged parts.
Assess vehicle condition and estimate ACV for total loss or repair.
Code labour time and parts required for repair, paint, or replacement for input into the automated system.
Interpret flat‑rate manuals to determine replacement and paint times as required.
Determine repair, frame, and painting times not covered by flat‑rate manuals.
Discuss and explain appraisal details to customers, adjusters, and the Special Investigation Unit.
Liaise with auto body and mechanical repair shops to review appraisal discrepancies or problems.
Approve additions to repair accounts if required.
Conduct in‑progress repair reviews.
Prepare estimates and supplements for heavy trucks, trailers, recreation vehicles, and specialty items.
Other duties may be assigned as needed.
Technical Knowledge & Skills Advanced knowledge of SGI appraisal policies, procedures and programs.
Advanced knowledge of automotive vehicle construction, repair and mechanical operations.
Advanced knowledge of OEM and industry repair processes for recent and emerging vehicle technologies.
Advanced knowledge of flat‑rate manuals for all vehicle makes.
Advanced knowledge of automotive estimating, including sheet metal, refinishing work and frame damage estimating.
Advanced skill in estimating damage of various types of light vehicles, including recreational vehicles.
Proficient skill in estimating damage of various types of commercial vehicles.
Fundamental knowledge of SGI auto adjusting policies and procedures.
Education & Experience Journeyperson certificate in Motor Vehicle Body Repairer, Automotive Service Technician, or Truck & Transport Mechanic.
Platinum I‑CAR certification.
Possession of a valid driver’s license.
5‑7years of directly related industry experience.

Pay Range $64,109.00–$80,912.00.
