Civil Coordinator
BC Eco is searching for a Civil Coordinator to join the Operations team based in BC. The position is a remote role with a presence from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday to Friday, and occasional Saturday coverage. Candidates should have experience in forestry, maintenance, and construction operations, client relations, and administration.
The ideal candidate is challenged by dynamic work, focuses on supporting multiple teams, and is flexible and adaptive. The role demands attention to detail, the ability to coordinate and respond to changing information, and collaboration with the Operations Manager, General Manager, and up to ten operations supervisors. The coordinator assists planners in building schedules, collecting and filing daily/weekly documentation, and troubleshooting problems to support field operations.

- Assist planners with building, updating, and maintaining civil project schedules.
- Collect, review, and file daily and weekly field documentation (e.g., Daily Supervisor Reports, production logs, safety records).
- Coordinate communication between field crews, subcontractors, planners, and management.
- Respond effectively to changing site conditions, schedules, and priorities.
- File and maintain documentation for multiple civil construction sites.
- Book travel, accommodations, and logistics for field personnel.
- Liaise with maintenance teams regarding equipment servicing, parts, and purchase orders.
- Book and track required training and certifications for supervisors and field staff.
- Review Daily Supervisor Reports and distribute relevant information to internal departments.
- Support a positive, safety‑first culture while maintaining accountability for performance and results.
- Communicate professionally with crew members, management, subcontractors, and client representatives.
- Travel regularly to civil construction job sites across British Columbia and Alberta, including remote locations.
- Experience in civil construction, road building, earthworks, utilities, or heavy industrial operations.
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate operations across multiple sites simultaneously.
- Strong understanding of field‑based construction workflows and reporting.
- Experience operating or working around heavy equipment is considered an asset.
- Proven safety record and commitment to safe work practices.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and CMMS systems.
- Excellent scheduling, organizational, and multitasking abilities.
- Knowledge of continuous improvement and LEAN practices is an asset.
- Willingness and ability to travel regularly and work in remote field environments.
- Valid Class 5 driver’s licence.
- Physically capable of working on uneven terrain, construction sites, and active work zones.
- Team‑oriented, hands‑on professional who leads by example.
- Occupational Health & Safety training (or willingness to obtain).
- First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Standard work schedule of 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m., Monday–Friday, with occasional Saturday.
- Irregular workflow demands requiring flexibility and responsiveness.
- Prolonged periods of sitting and computer‑based work.
- Remote work locations requiring frequent travel.
- High‑pressure operational environments requiring sound judgment and adaptability.
- Always lead and demonstrate safety by example.
- Ensure all personnel understand and follow safe work procedures.
- Conduct regular inspections of equipment and work areas.
- Report, investigate, and correct hazards, incidents, and near‑misses immediately.
- Ensure appropriate PPE is available, worn, and maintained.
- Participate in safety meetings, training, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ability to lift materials up to 50 lbs as required.
- Prolonged periods of standing, walking, climbing, and equipment operation.
