Commercial Building Inspector

Position: Commercial Building Inspector Needed
Become a vital part of the City of Saskatoon as a Commercial Building Inspector.

This role offers the chance to monitor compliance with critical building codes for 12 months on a temporary basis.

Under CUPE 59, your work will focus on various responsibilities from inspections to enforcing building regulations. You will communicate effectively with various stakeholders to resolve compliance issues while ensuring public health and safety. This position emphasizes accuracy in maintaining inspection records.

Key Responsibilities:

• Schedule and conduct comprehensive building inspections

• Communicate code interpretations to property owners and contractors

• Review construction drawings prior to inspections

• Maintain physical and electronic inspection records

• Patrol to verify permitting compliance for construction activities

Requirements:

• Completion of Grade 12 education

• Five years of related experience including two years as an inspector

• Class 3 Building Official Licence is required

• Valid driver's licence and a reliable vehicle

• Competency in interpreting construction codes and standards
