Senior Building Inspector

Position: Senior Building Inspector at City
Lead a team as a Senior Residential Building Inspector with the City of Saskatoon. This role focuses on residential plan reviews, inspections, and program compliance.

In this CUPE 59 position, you'll supervise a team of Building Inspectors while ensuring adherence to codes and regulations. Your expertise will be pivotal in providing technical guidance for escalated inquiries and enhancing service delivery through effective staff management. Collaborate with various departments to address complex residential requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and coordinate residential permit program activities

• Perform and assist with building inspections and plan reviews

• Provide technical direction and training for staff

• Analyze and implement changes in permit procedures

• Monitor performance and productivity of the inspection team

Requirements:

• Grade 12 education and a two-year technical diploma

• Five years’ relevant building construction experience

• Two years’ supervisory and inspector experience

• Valid Class 3 Building Official Licence

• Safe driving record with a Saskatchewan Class 5 licence
