Residential Building Inspector

Pursue a pivotal role as a Residential Building Inspector with the City of Saskatoon. This position focuses on ensuring compliance with building codes and safety regulations across various construction phases.

The City of Saskatoon is seeking a qualified Building Inspector for a term of approximately 24 months. You will oversee residential and non-complex commercial applications, conducting inspections and ensuring adherence to the National Building Code and local bylaws. Your responsibilities extend to maintaining records, enforcing building standards, and providing technical guidance to applicants.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review and approve building applications for compliance

• Schedule and conduct inspections throughout construction

• Maintain accurate records and issue inspection reports

• Prepare and issue building permits to applicants

• Assist with training and developing operational procedures

Requirements:

• Grade 12 education and relevant post-secondary qualification

• Valid Level 2 Saskatchewan Building Official Licence

• Five years of experience in building construction

• Valid driver's license with a safe driving record

• Knowledge of National Building Code and local bylaws
