Forensic/Rehabilitation Psychiatrist
Job Description
The - North Battleford is looking for Psychiatrists with a specific interest in forensic work as well as care and treatment of long-term rehabilitation patients.
The Saskatchewan Hospital is a 284 bed Psychiatric Facility which includes a 96-bed secure unit that provides support for offenders living with mental health issues.
This is an innovative approach for delivering mental health care and supports to two separate groups of people with significant psychiatric rehabilitation needs. There is no out-patient component to this position. On-call duties are shared with the Psychiatrists of the Battlefords Mental Health Centre in a 1 in 6 rotation.

Certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC) or have a valid letter of eligibility (Not required if eligible for Ministerial License with College of Physicians and Surgeons of Saskatchewan)

* A valid drivers license
* Legal entitlement to work in Canada
* Minimum of 3 acceptable references
* An acceptable criminal record check with vulnerable sector search
* Experience providing Generalist and/or Forensic Psychiatry services within a catchment model
* Demonstrable evidence in multidisciplinary approach of care/management
* Understanding of Saskatchewan provincial laws and regulations of commitment and release of the mentally ill under the Mental Health Services Act would be an asset
