Position Overview The shift pattern for this post is 40 hours per week over 7 days / on-call commitment.
This is a fixed term position of 6 months.
Applications are invited for this Locum Consultant Cardiologist post which will be based at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital. The successful applicant will contribute to the in-patient cardiology rota at QEUH (CCU and general ward roles, weekend rota and out-of-hours on-call). The job includes two sessions contributing to the cardiac MRI reporting service at the Golden Jubilee National Hospital. The out‑of‑hours and weekend on‑call commitment will be 1 in 11, covering the QEUH.
The weekday commitment to CCU will be 1 in 18 and for the Cardiology wards 1 in 11. The successful candidate will provide two General Cardiology clinics per week at the New Victoria ACH and contribute to the vetting of GP referrals.
Additional Information This is a fixed term post for 6 months which has arisen due to a Cardiology Consultant resignation due to relocation. The successful candidate will join an established consultant cardiologist team.
Qualifications Applicants must have MRCP, full GMC registration and a licence to practice. Those trained in the UK should have evidence of higher specialist training leading to CCT in Cardiology or eligibility for specialist registration (CESR) or be within 6 months of confirmed entry from date of interview. Dual accreditation in GIM would be preferred but not essential. You should have extensive training in general cardiology.
Non‑UK applicants must demonstrate equivalent training.
