Become a Psychiatrist within the Canadian Armed Forces and deliver essential mental health services to CAF members. This role includes telepsychiatry options and opportunities for military training.
In this position, your expertise will be utilized to provide clinical care and leadership in mental health services across Canada. You will participate in comprehensive assessments, medication management, and multidisciplinary teamwork to support military members' health. Additionally, involvement in education, mentorship, and policy development is a core element of the role.
Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver thorough diagnostic assessments and follow-up care
• Work alongside a multidisciplinary mental health care team
• Assist in evaluating members’ operational readiness
• Advise military and health services on mental health matters
• Contribute to policy development for mental health practices
Requirements:
• Licensed to practice Psychiatry in a Canadian province or territory
• Member of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada
• Willingness to engage in military training and operations
• Ability to provide telepsychiatry services to remote members
• Flexibility for relocations or commitments to the Primary Reserve Force
