Job Description

The Temerty Faculty of Medicine, University of Toronto, and the Division of Infectious Diseases at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre invite applications to fill an academic Infectious Diseases position. The position is an academic appointment with a Clinician Teacher (CT) rank of Assistant, Associate or Full Professor. Expected start date is July 1, 2026, or another mutually agreeable date thereafter.

Responsibilities
  • Provide inpatient Infectious Diseases consultation services for complex patient populations across medical, surgical, oncology, and critical care services.
  • Cover approximately 12–16 weeks of inpatient  each year.
  • Practice general infectious diseases and Complex Out Patient Antibiotic Treatment (COPAT) clinic at least once per week.
  • Run additional longitudinal clinics including , COPAT, and HIV.
  • Maintain academic teaching commitments, including undergraduate and postgraduate teaching.
  • Commit to educational excellence through formal training or awards in teaching methodology.
  • Support the division through participation in departmental meetings and educational initiatives.
Qualifications
  • MD degree.
  • Post‑graduate certification in Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (or equivalent).
  • Eligibility for licensure to practice in the Province of Ontario through the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario.
  • Demonstrated clinical expertise in assessment and management of Infectious Diseases.
  • Advanced training and a track record of teaching accomplishments.
  • Strong commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion.
Compensation

Estimated annual remuneration: $300,000–$350,000 fee‑for‑service, commensurate with academic rank, qualifications, experience, and patient volume. Eligible for membership in the Sunnybrook Department of Medicine Association and access to group medical, dental and life insurance benefit plans.
