Closed 3 days ago (Tue, 30 Jun). Part time - temporary / contract. Starting from $10,536 / month.

This role is designed to fit alongside your existing clinical practice.

About Us

New Beginnings Recovery Home is a residential addiction and mental health treatment program located in the Greater Toronto Area. As one of Canada’s first BIPOC-owned recovery centres of its kind, we are committed to delivering trauma-informed, culturally responsive care that supports individuals from communities that have historically faced barriers to accessing treatment.

We are currently inviting a licensed psychiatrist to collaborate with our clinical team by providing psychiatric assessments for incoming residents. Services can be delivered virtually, on‑site, or through a hybrid approach. Opportunities to participate in therapeutic group sessions are also available and compensated separately.

Role Overview

The psychiatrist will primarily conduct psychiatric intake evaluations for individuals seeking admission into our structured 28‑day residential recovery program. These assessments help determine clinical suitability for the program and support safe treatment planning.

You will work alongside an interdisciplinary team of clinicians and intake professionals to ensure each individual entering the program is appropriately screened and supported.

  • Ability to bill OHIP independently or through an existing group billing structure
  • Working knowledge of OHIP mental health billing codes (including K‑codes)
  • Experience in addiction medicine, community psychiatry, or family mental health care considered an asset
  • Comfortable delivering services through secure virtual platforms
  • Alignment with trauma-informed, anti‑oppressive, and client‑focused care practices
Schedule & Time Commitment

This role is designed to complement an existing clinical practice.

Intake assessments generally range from 20–40 minutes

Minimum commitment of two assessments per week
, with the opportunity to take on additional assessments depending on availability and program demand.

Compensation

We offer a flexible and negotiable compensation structure that may include:

  • Per‑assessment payment for psychiatric evaluations
  • Revenue sharing on eligible OHIP‑billable services (such as admission assessments and/or group‑psychotherapy sessions)
  • Compensation details will be discussed based on experience and level of involvement.
Billing & Collaboration Framework

Physicians must be open to participating in a collaborative billing arrangement with New Beginnings.

Revenue sharing applies to applicable OHIP‑billed services.

Partnering physicians benefit from:
