Faculty Member, Occupational Therapy Without Term Instructor
The School of Rehabilitation Science currently offers a Master of Physical Therapy program and is expanding to include Master of Occupational Therapy and Master of Speech-Language Pathology programs. This expansion is part of the Government of Saskatchewan’s Health Human Resources Action Plan, focused on creating opportunities for students to train for careers in these professions in Saskatchewan.
The programs will be housed jointly within the School of Rehabilitation Science with intentional opportunities for inter-professional education. Our School aims to foster collaboration and innovation among students and faculty from diverse disciplines, enhancing the educational experience and preparing future leaders in the rehabilitation sciences.
Applications are invited from qualified individuals for four (4) full-time without term Instructor positions with the School of Rehabilitation Science, College of Medicine at the University of Saskatchewan commencing July 1, 2026 (negotiable). Faculty Instructor positions will be primarily and substantively focused on instruction and teaching in academic programs.
This is a unique and exciting opportunity to have a significant impact in developing curriculum and teaching within the inaugural Master of Occupational Therapy program, launching in Fall 2026.
The School’s mission is excellence in rehabilitation science teaching, research, scholarship, and leadership to improve the quality of life and well-being for all people of Saskatchewan and beyond. The successful candidates will join our team and assist in advancing our strategic plan focused on establishing a hub for rehabilitation science education, research, and community engagement, strengthening Indigenous initiatives, progressing our graduate programming, and enhancing inter-professional collaborative practice and research.
The successful candidates will plan and teach a wide range of graduate-level courses and mentor students in the Master of Occupational Therapy program and other School of Rehabilitation Science programs across a broad spectrum of practice areas, which may include: theoretical foundations in occupational therapy practice; physical ( musculoskeletal, neuro-rehabilitation) and mental health across the lifespan and health care continuum; and professional practice.
In particular, we would welcome applicants with practice and/ or teaching experiences in and with rural/ remote and/ or Indigenous communities.

Qualifications
The successful candidates must have successfully completed an entry to practice degree in Occupational Therapy and have at least two years of clinical practice experience. Candidates must be eligible for licensure with the Saskatchewan College of Occupational Therapists and eligible for membership with the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in occupational therapy, a passion for education and a commitment to advancing the profession. We are seeking candidates with an interest in engaging in teaching and professional practice activities across a broad spectrum of practice areas. Preference will be given to candidates with demonstrated effective classroom teaching and mentorship, evidence of advanced professional practice training, and effective interpersonal and communication skills.
The salary band as of July 1, 2026, for an Instructor position is $76,847 to $120,863. This position includes a comprehensive benefits package which includes a dental, health and extended vision care plan; pension plan, life insurance (compulsory and voluntary), academic long-term disability, sick leave, travel insurance, death benefits, an employee assistance program, a professional expense allowance, and a flexible health and wellness spending program.
