Position Summary:

La Cité is the University of Regina’s hub for French-language education, research, and community engagement. Our mission meets the educational needs of Saskatchewan’s Francophone community. La Cité is a dynamic centre where students, faculty, and the community collaborate to explore issues shaping today’s Francophonie. Our research centre CRFM offers an innovative program prioritizing the Fransaskois community. La Cité is seeking an  Associate Dean (Academic & Research) .

The Associate Dean reports to the Dean and will advance the unit’s academic mission and provincial mandate.
Specific Accountabilities:
Provide Academic Leadership:  Lead La Cité’s academic programs (credit and non‑credit, undergraduate and graduate), including the academic and non‑academic teams. Coordinate development, maintenance, and delivery of programs to ensure innovation and service to Franco phones and Francophiles of Saskatchewan.
Represent La Cité in Governance:  Actively engage in University governance processes, serving on committees such as CCUAS and CCFGSR and other relevant committees.
Oversee and Direct La Cité’s Research Initiatives:  Direct the Centre canadien de recherche sur les francophonies en milieu minoritaire (CRFM).
Oversee the Centre de formation:  With the Manager of the Centre de formation, oversee the non‑credit Centre de formation to ensure effective delivery and alignment with La Cité’s mission.
Support Faculty Members:  Contribute to performance review processes for academic staff and support scholarship and teaching activities (including sessionals) to ensure high‑quality programs.
Strengthen Academic Services:  Oversee delivery of academic services, specifically academic advising and program option/development.
Collaborate Strategically:  Work with the Dean, staff, and campus leaders to advance La Cité’s provincial mandate, strengthen partnerships, and represent the unit at university and community levels.

Requirements / Exigences   Requirements:
Doctoral degree, in social sciences or humanities. A specialization in translation, interpretation, or communication is an asset.
Full mastery of written and oral French and English.
Administrative, leadership, and management experience. University administration and governance experience is an asset.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with students and colleagues across the institution and with Francophone community organizations.
Excellent leadership skills, including building a team, balancing competing demands, and driving change while maintaining positive working relationships.
Effective communicator with experience in conflict management and resolution.
