The instructor will teach core creative coding methods and strategies for computational art. Through demonstrations and studio activities, the instructor will help students develop skills and confidence to work critically and creatively with computational tools. The course introduces students to a variety of artists and practitioners engaged with computational media via short readings and survey lectures rooted in the history, theory, and contemporary practices of creative coding and digital art.
As an introductory course, activities will encourage experimentation, curiosity, and play.
- Teach all scheduled sessions on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1800‑2045 (July‑August).
- Prepare and deliver lecture content, demonstrations, and studio exercises.
- Provide timely feedback to students and facilitate discussion.
- Assess student learning and contribute to course evaluation.
- MA, MFA, PhD, or equivalent degree.
- Evidence of experience teaching creative technologies and understanding of creative coding methods.
- Awareness of key issues related to the course content.
- University‑level teaching experience.
- Legally entitled to work in Canada; work must be performed within Canada.
- Must provide a sample syllabus relevant to the course description.
