As an eSST, you will collaborate with the school support team to foster a thriving academic environment. This two-year secondment emphasizes student advocacy, mentoring, and tailored interventions for students in need. By leveraging evidence-informed strategies, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring effective support in literacy and mathematics for students transitioning to secondary school.
Key Responsibilities:
• Facilitate staff development for student success initiatives
• Support transitions for Grade 8 students to secondary school
• Advocate for and mentor at-risk students
• Develop engagement strategies for student learning
• Monitor data and implement individualized interventions
Requirements:
• Ontario Teacher’s Certificate of Qualification
• University Degree in Education
• Experience teaching Grades 7 and 8
• Additional qualifications in Reading or Mathematics
• Minimum five years of diverse teaching experience
