Indigenous Sessional Instructor

Position: Indigenous Knowledge Sessional Instructor
Location: Duck Lake

Become a driving force in Indigenous education as a Sessional Lecturer for the University of Saskatchewan. Teach the course INDG 210.3 this fall in a community-centered format.

The Department of Indigenous Studies is looking for a Sessional Lecturer to lead the course on Indigenous Ways of Knowing during the upcoming Fall 2026 session at Beardy's and Okemasis Cree Nation. Applicants must possess significant knowledge of Indigenous cultures and teaching experience. This role requires dedication to creating a reciprocal learning experience for students in a live lecture setting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the lecture on Indigenous Ways of Knowing

• Create an engaging and respectful class atmosphere

• Incorporate Indigenous perspectives into the curriculum

• Provide timely and constructive feedback on assignments

• Engage with local Indigenous communities for contextual learning

Requirements:

• PhD or MA in Indigenous Studies or equivalent

• Demonstrated background in Indigenous knowledge

• Experience in teaching Indigenous courses preferred

• Commitment to indigenization and decolonization

• Driver’s license for off-campus activities
