Position: Full-time Child and Youth Counsellor Vacancy

Become a key part of the Student Services team as a Temporary Full-time Child and Youth Counsellor with Sun West School Division, beginning September 1, 2026. This role focuses on counseling students dealing with emotional and social hurdles.

As a Child and Youth Counsellor, your primary duty will be to support students at Westberry and Rossville Schools by offering guidance on emotional, behavioral, and social issues. This position also includes collaborating with teachers to foster a conducive learning environment and engaging with parents to address student needs. Regular travel between schools will be required for effective service delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide counseling to individuals and small groups

• Collaborate with teachers on addressing behavioral issues

• Aid in designing classroom programs for at-risk students

• Maintain communication with parents regarding student welfare

• Lead workshops and training sessions for teachers

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as social work

• School counseling experience is beneficial

• Strong collaboration and communication skills

• Dedication to addressing diverse student challenges

• Willing to travel between schools as needed
