Overview The Curriculum Development Advisor will collaborate with the Ministry of Labour and Skills and its team based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, focusing on institutionalizing Competency-Based Training (CBT) to bridge the gap between international industry standards and local labour market demands.
Responsibilities Ensure local labour demands align with international standards beyond drafting guidelines.
Perform industrial gap analyses and organize DACUM (Developing A Curriculum) workshops with local industry leaders.
Transition from traditional theoretical instruction to Competency-Based Training (CBT).
Develop modular curricula that emphasize practical skills, incorporating Green TVET principles and digital literacy components.
Create extensive assessment banks featuring practical projects, oral examinations, and observation checklists.
Cultivate a sustainable group of certified local Lead Trainers to guarantee enduring pedagogical autonomy.
Qualifications Language Requirement:
English Level 5-Fluent.
Eligibility:
Open to Canadian Citizens and Permanent Residents of Canada only.
Bachelor’s degree in a technical or vocational training-related field. Master of Science (preferred).
At least 5 years of work experience in the technical and vocational training system in a leadership role, plus 2 years of industry experience either in leadership or as an expert.
Knowledge of technical and vocational training for trainers, technology fabrication and transfer, effective ship training practices, and proficiency in using digital technologies.
