Job Overview  As a Curriculum Development Advisor, you will collaborate with the Ministry of Labour and Skills and their team based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia to institutionalize Competency-Based Training (CBT) and close the gap between international industry standards and local labour market demands. The partnership involves jointly developing high-quality Occupational Standards, Modular Curricula, and Standardized Assessment Toolkits, while cultivating a sustainable group of certified local Lead Trainers to guarantee enduring pedagogical autonomy.

This role supports the “Sharing Canadian Expertise for Inclusive Development and Gender Equality (SHARE)” project.
Eligibility   English proficiency:
Level 5 – Fluent
Open to Canadian citizens and permanent residents of Canada only
Responsibilities   Collaborate with the Ministry of Labour and Skills to institutionalize Competency-Based Training (CBT).
Jointly develop high-quality Occupational Standards, Modular Curricula, and Standardized Assessment Toolkits.
Ensure local labor demands align with international standards beyond drafting guidelines.
Perform industrial gap analyses and organize DACUM (Developing A Curriculum) workshops with local industry leaders.
Transition from traditional theoretical instruction to Competency-Based Training (CBT).
Develop modular curricula emphasizing practical skills, incorporating Green TVET principles and components of digital literacy.
Develop extensive assessment banks featuring practical projects, oral examinations, and observation checklists.
Qualifications   Bachelor’s degree in a technical or vocational training‑related field.
Master of Science (preferred).
At least 5years of experience in the technical and vocational training system in a leadership role, plus 2years of industry experience in leadership or as an expert.
Knowledge of technical and vocational training for trainers, technology fabrication and transfer, effective ship training practices, and proficiency with digital technologies.
