SOC 355.3 Sociology of Friendship Intimacy and Close Ties – Lecture, Wed 11:30-14:20, Term 1 (September 1, 2026 – December 31, 2026)

Closing Date for Applications:  June 19, 2026 at 4:30 p.m.

Duties:  The duties of a sessional lecturer include teaching as described in Article 14.2.3, marking assignments and examinations, supervising the work of marking assistants (if applicable), and holding regular office hours.

Copies of transcripts of qualifying degree.

Teaching dossier  – recent teaching evaluations (students and peers); if previously taught course, evaluations from that course.

A response to comments from student evaluations (optional).

Two letters of reference, specifying teaching‑related experience; sent directly to the Department Head. Applications without reference letters will not be considered.

Returning Candidates (taught at STM within the last 24 months) must submit:

Cover letter  specifying courses, strengths, ranking.

Updated curriculum vitae – current contact details.

Copies of most recent teaching evaluations (students and peers).

A response to comments from student evaluations (optional).

Stipends:  Competitive stipends and compensation comparable with the University of Saskatchewan.

Qualifications:

Preference to candidates with a Ph.D. in discipline; demonstrated experience;
Master’s degree and relevant experience considered; seniority accorded per collective agreement.
