Graduate Teaching Assistants, Johnson Shoyama Graduate School of Public Policy
The Johnson Shoyama Graduate School of Public Policy (JSGS) invites applications for four Teaching Assistant (TA) positions for the 2026-27 Fall session.

The general duties and responsibilities of the Teaching Assistant positions will include:

Assisting with grading work

Helping to maintain the class and/or online discussion forums (as applicable)

Providing tutorials on economics and/or briefing note writing to students (as applicable)

Conferring with and taking direction from the instructor

Providing assistance with other course matters as assigned

These positions will work on campus. The TAs will report formally to the JSGS Director of Administration, and their work will be directed and supervised by the respective course instructor.  Required Number of Hours :
Total of 120 hours over the Fall 2026 term (each position)

Qualifications (

Skills and Abilities

)

Candidates for JSGS 805 must have an economics-related background and possess quantitative skills.

Candidates for JSGS 806 require experience with public policy analysis and a strong understanding of Canadian governance.

Candidates for JSGS 838 must have a background in economics and possess knowledge of financial management and/or public-sector work experience (e.g., basic accounting concepts, financial statements, familiarity with budgeting processes, briefing note evaluations, technical reports, etc.).

For JSGS 891, familiarity with MPA competencies at JSGS is required. Experience working in the public sector would be an asset.

For all positions, a master's degree in economics, political science, public administration, public policy, or equivalent is required. Experience as a TA would be an asset. The incumbents must be registered in a graduate program at the University of Saskatchewan and be in good standing with the College of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies; priority will be given to students enrolled in the Johnson Shoyama Graduate School of Public Policy.

Where USask graduate students are appointed, they will be in scope of PSAC.
