Become an Educational Assistant at Saskatoon Public Schools, specializing in vision loss support. This full-time, part-time, and casual role is crucial for enhancing educational access through braille.
Saskatoon Public Schools serves nearly 29,000 students with a dedicated staff of over 3,300, making it the largest school division in Saskatchewan. We need Educational Assistants to aid students with vision loss through individualized programming and braille communication. Candidates will work as part of a collaborative team to ensure equitable access to instructional materials.
Key Responsibilities:
• Support students with braille and access to learning materials
• Collaborate on Individualized Program Plans (IPP)
• Adapt learning supports to meet individual student needs
• Assist with personal care and medical needs as required
• Promote positive behavior supports and ensure student safety
Requirements:
• Experience in special education or related field preferred
• Braille Certification (CNIB or equivalent)
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to assist with physical demands of the position
• Willingness to handle associated behavioral challenges
