Principal Geotechnical Engineer

Lead complex municipal engineering projects with the City of Saskatoon as a Principal Geotechnical Engineer. You’ll provide geological expertise and oversight to ensure project compliance and safety.
This temporary full-time position requires a Master’s Degree in civil or geological engineering and 7-9 years of relevant experience. You will be responsible for geotechnical initiatives, material specifications, and overseeing contract compliance.

Your role also includes supervising technical staff, developing project schedules, and ensuring that all projects meet regulatory standards and community safety goals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide technical expertise for geotechnical initiatives

• Manage construction contracts for municipal projects

• Supervise design and project administration staff

• Use predictive modeling software for slope stability

• Negotiate with regulatory agencies for project approvals
Requirements:

• Master’s Degree in engineering with a geology focus

• 7-9 years of related engineering experience

• Registered or eligible for registration as a professional engineer

• Strong communication and report presentation skills

• Knowledge of glacial and bedrock stratigraphy
