In this position, you will support the Parks Asset Management Coordinator with a focus on implementing and maintaining GIS systems. Your work will involve updating spatial databases related to parks and forestry, creating GIS drawings, and addressing public inquiries. Additionally, you will recommend improvements for GIS standards and training for department staff.
Key Responsibilities:
• Maintain GIS databases for parks and natural assets
• Create drawings and conduct spatial analysis with AutoCAD
• Provide information to staff and public about GIS data
• Evaluate standards for GIS database management
• Train staff on GIS and AutoCAD software use
Requirements:
• Graduation from a related drafting technology program
• Completion of AutoCAD and GIS course certifications
• Minimum of two years’ relevant experience
• Familiarity with natural assets would be beneficial
• Strong oral and written communication skills
