Position: Process Engineer Co-Op/Intern - Winter 2027
Location: Colonsay

Process Engineer Co‑Op/Intern – Winter 2027

Location:

Mosaic Potash Colonsay, underground potash mine, 70 km east of Saskatoon, Canada.

Term:
January
11,2027 to December
17,2027. Full time, 36‑40 hours per week. In person. 9/80 schedule if applicable.

Responsibilities
  • Fieldwork, data analysis, report writing, and database maintenance.
  • Assist in identifying root causes of operational challenges and propose solutions to enhance efficiency, reduce risk.
  • Support circuit optimization efforts, including field checks, KPI tracking, and performance monitoring.
  • Conduct field checks and contribute to system validation for new projects.
  • Participate in site safety initiatives: behavior‑based safety program, near‑miss reporting, risk reduction projects.
  • Develop and implement online production monitoring dashboards using PI visualization tools.
  • Support KPI reviews by gathering data and aligning metrics with production targets.
  • Communicate with personnel at all levels (management, operators, engineers, tradespersons, contractors).
  • Attend departmental and project‑specific meetings.
  • Adhere to Mosaic’s mission, guiding principles, priorities, and key competencies.
Qualifications
  • Third‑year student (or higher) by January
    2027 pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Industrial Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Process Engineering with 72% or higher GPA.
  • Ability to function in an industrial chemical and mining environment.
  • 1–2years of volunteering or work experience with student/school organizations preferred.
  • Previous internship or co‑op experience preferred.
  • Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s licence.
  • Must be able to work full time and remain enrolled as a student during the internship.
  • Successful completion of post‑offer/pre‑placement drug and alcohol screening, background check, physical, and functional capacity examination.
  • Basic computer skills; familiarity with industrial environment desirable.
  • Effective verbal communication skills a plus.
Physical Requirements
  • Work is occasionally outdoors with exposure to varying temperatures.
  • Must be able to lift 0–25lbs, climb stairs, work at various heights, distinguish colors and patterns, hear, read, write and understand basic English, see, use fine hand motor skills, wear a respirator when required.
  • Work rotating shifts, overtime, 12‑hour shifts, and be authorized to work in Canada.
  • Physical demands may include lifting, climbing, and working at heights; reasonable accommodations may be provided.
