Become a key part of community development as a Building Inspector. This part-time role offers flexibility while ensuring compliance with essential building safety standards.
As a Building Inspector, your primary responsibility will be to report to the Building and Development Officer and enforce relevant building codes, zoning regulations, and safety standards. You will conduct inspections, issue permits, and provide guidance to stakeholders including builders and contractors. Your precise record-keeping and advisory capacity will facilitate effective land development processes within the municipality.
Key Responsibilities:
• Enforce applicable building and zoning regulations
• Issue development, building, and plumbing permits
• Complete various inspections to ensure safety
• Maintain accurate records and permit documentation
• Advise council on planning and zoning changes
Requirements:
• CBCO certification or willingness to obtain
• Community College building trades certificate
• Understanding of provincial building codes
• Strong research and communication abilities
• Possess a class 5 driver's license
