Purpose:
The Division of Pediatric Cardiology, Department of Pediatrics, requires a research coordinator to be involved in the following provincial, inter-provincial and national multicentre multidisciplinary collaborative research projects:
This is a provincial multidisciplinary collaboration between the Divisions of Pediatric Cardiology and Pediatric Nephrology, that aims to demonstrate in children with chronic kidney disease that optimizing blood pressure control decreases arterial stiffness resulting in improved long-term cardiovascular outcomes.
This is an inter-provincial multidisciplinary collaboration between the 5 Pediatric Cardiology centres (Winnipeg, Saskatoon, Calgary, Edmonton, Vancouver) across the Western Canadian Congenital Heart Network (WCCHN) to study the epidemiology, demographic trends, treatment and clinical outcomes in children born with single ventricle physiology across Western Canada.
This is a national multicentre collaboration aiming to include all the Pediatric and Adult Congenital Heart Disease centres to study the epidemiology, demographic trends, treatment and clinical outcomes in people living with a Fontan circulation across Canada.
This is a national multicentre collaboration between 17 Pediatric Cardiology centres to gain knowledge of these diseases in the pediatric Canadian population, to best identify and treat these patients, and to guide advocacy at institutional and governmental levels to improve access to health care resources.
This role involves assisting with regulatory and organizational applications, recruiting study participants, conducting chart reviews, performing research measurements collecting and managing research data, coordinating project meetings, and serving as a liaison with local and national collaborators. The ideal candidate will have strong communication and organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary research team.
Nature of Work: This position is funded by various grants dedicated to supporting the successful execution of the above research projects. The Research Coordinator will report directly to Dr. Tim Bradley, work closely with him to carry out key project activities, including data collection, coordination, and communication with collaborators.
Typical Duties or Accountabilities:
Education: A level of education equivalent to a Master’s degree in a related health discipline from a recognized program. A combination of education and experience may be considered (Select applicants with Bachelor’s degree and experience in healthcare research or nursing may be considered).
