The Role
This is an exciting opportunity to join the dynamic and forward‑thinking Imaging Directorate within NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde.

The post is suitable for experienced Radiographers looking to progress into a Band 6 role or those already working at an equivalent level.

The role supports professional development, clinical specialisation, and participation in a structured cross‑site rotational programme across a range of imaging modalities.

Duration, Location, and Working Pattern
Location

Queen Elizabeth University Hospital – West of Scotland Major Trauma Centre

Institute of Neurological Sciences – West of Scotland Thrombectomy Centre

Gartnavel General Hospital, including the West of Scotland Beatson Oncology Centre

New Victoria Hospital

Work Pattern

Cross‑site rotational post operating within a hub‑and‑spoke model.

Flexible working as part of a 24/7, 365‑day service.

Participation in weekends, extended days, night shifts, and public holidays as required.

Duration

Permanent rotational Band 6 post (subject to advert specifics).

Key Responsibilities

Deliver high‑quality imaging services across emergency, inpatient, outpatient, and theatre pathways.

Provide supervision, support, and leadership to junior radiographers and students.

Participate in service improvement initiatives, clinical audit, and staff development activities.

Contribute to quality improvement projects and continuing professional development (CPD) programmes.

Support the delivery of safe, effective, and patient‑centred radiology services in line with local and national standards.

Undertake rotational training and practice within:

Plain Film

Mobile Imaging

Fluoroscopy

Theatre Imaging

Gain opportunities to train and work within advanced imaging modalities including:

CT

MRI

Interventional Radiology

Neurointerventional Radiology

Knowledge, training, qualifications and/or experience required to do the job
Essential Qualifications And Registration

BSc (Hons) in Diagnostic Radiography or equivalent qualification (e.g., DCR).

Current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).

Experience And Knowledge

Evidence of recent continuing professional development (CPD).

Modality‑specific experience is desirable.

Ability to support and develop less experienced staff.

Understanding of service development and quality improvement principles.
