NOC 13112 - Medical administrative assistants
Provide administrative support in a clinical setting, managing patient appointments, records, and communications. Work collaboratively with health care teams to ensure efficient office operations and high-quality patient service.

Main Duties
Schedule and confirm patient appointments and manage clinicians' calendars.
Greet and register patients, collect and update demographic and health information.
Maintain and update electronic medical records and paper files, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
Process billing, prepare invoices, submit insurance claims, and follow up on outstanding accounts.
Answer, screen and triage incoming calls; coordinate referrals and communicate with patients and healthcare providers.
Prepare reports, correspondence, and clinical documentation and provide general administrative support to clinical staff.
Requirements
Secondary school diploma or equivalent.
Post-secondary certificate or diploma in medical office administration, health administration, or a related field.
Minimum one year of experience in a medical office, clinic, or similar health care setting, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) systems and common office software (word processing, spreadsheets, email).
Working knowledge of medical terminology, basic billing practices, and insurance claim procedures.
Ability to handle confidential patient information and comply with privacy and record-keeping regulations.
Required Skills
