Job Description & How to Apply Below
Position: Senior Unscheduled Care /Mental Health Assessment Nurse - Mental Health Services
NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC)  is one of the largest healthcare systems in the United Kingdom, employing approximately 40,000 staff across a wide range of clinical and non‑clinical professions and roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health services to a population of over 1.15 million people, and to a wider population of 2.2 million when regional and national services are included.

The Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for one full time (36hrs) and one part time (22.3hrs) Senior Unscheduled Care (Mental Health) Nurse to join the Adult Mental Health Liaison Team (AMHLS). The service operates 9 am‑5 pm, Monday to Sunday, including public holidays. We are looking for enthusiastic and experienced mental health nurses to join the team. This is a rewarding opportunity to support people with complex mental and physical health needs in the acute hospital setting.

AMHLS provides specialist mental health assessment, diagnosis, management, and after‑care provisions for individuals whose mental health difficulties impact on the delivery of care in acute hospital settings. As part of this multidisciplinary team, you will contribute to high‑quality biopsychosocial assessments, including mental health risk, and recommend evidence‑based interventions appropriate to the acute setting. The service also plays an important role in consultation, teaching, and research in the general hospital setting.

Given the fast‑paced nature of Unscheduled Care, the post holder will respond promptly and appropriately to patient need, manage and prioritise their own workload, and support junior staff in delivering safe and effective care. You will be accountable to the Nurse Team Leader, with opportunities to provide cover in their absence, supported through regular line‑management supervision.

You need to have a live NMC UK pin in order to be considered for this post.
