The Mental Health Counsellor in the ACT program will deliver essential services to clients facing serious mental health challenges. In this temporary maternity leave position, you'll conduct assessments, develop rehabilitation plans, and provide therapeutic support. Engage in community-based services including home visits and evening support, ensuring clients receive comprehensive care tailored to their needs.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide recovery-oriented counselling and crisis interventions
• Conduct assessments and develop individualized recovery plans
• Support clients with daily living and access to health care
• Deliver community-based services including home visits
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and client records
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and experience
• 3-5 years in community mental health practice
• Experience with interdisciplinary teams and diverse communities
• Knowledge of mental health practices and Ontario Mental Health Act
• Valid driver's license and vehicle access
Support individuals in their recovery journeys with proven counselling techniques and community engagement.
