Reporting to the Manager, Digital Health, the Clinical Information Systems Specialist supports implementation and management of electronic medical records (EMR) across the region. The role ensures EMR systems align with clinical and financial workflows, overseeing quality assurance, auditing, security, and data integrity in compliance with privacy policies. The Specialist collaborates with vendors, eHealth, SHA Information Systems, and departments on EMR installations, upgrades, and system changes.
Key responsibilities include leading application management, business case development, requirements gathering, risk assessment, and gap analysis. Acting as a consultant, the Specialist leads complex, organization-wide transformation initiatives and applies expertise in best practices, quality improvement, change and project management, and healthcare processes. Also responsible for configuration in rural Sunrise Clinical Manager (SCM).
Experience
Two (2) years experience in health care
Education
Undergraduate degree or diploma in Information Management
Health Information Management diploma (HIM)
Business Administration diploma (DBA)
Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA)
Bachelor of Computer Science (BCS)
Licenses
Valid Class 5 driver’s license
Other Education and Training
Licensed, and in good standing, with regulatory body, if applicable
Undergraduate degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience
