Job Description

Job Summary

Provide administrative support in a clinical setting, managing patient appointments, records, and communications. Work collaboratively with health care teams to ensure efficient office operations and high-quality patient service.

Main Duties
  • Schedule and confirm patient appointments and manage clinicians calendars.
  • Greet and register patients, collect and update demographic and health information.
  • Maintain and update electronic medical records and paper files, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Process billing, prepare invoices, submit insurance claims, and follow up on outstanding accounts.
  • Answer, screen and triage incoming calls; coordinate referrals and communicate with patients and healthcare providers.
  • Prepare reports, correspondence, and clinical documentation and provide general administrative support to clinical staff.
Requirements
  • Secondary school diploma or equivalent.
  • Post-secondary certificate or diploma in medical office administration, health administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum one year of experience in a medical office, clinic, or similar health care setting, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) systems and common office software (word processing, spreadsheets, email).
  • Working knowledge of medical terminology, basic billing practices, and insurance claim procedures.
  • Ability to handle confidential patient information and comply with privacy and record-keeping regulations.
