Position Summary

This position manages a medical device sales territory for Teleflex's Acute Care business in the Canadian market, which includes anesthesia accounts in assigned geographies of Alberta and Saskatchewan Region. The medical device products sold in the business include Teleflex’s portfolio of airway (laryngeal mask airways, laryngoscopes, endotracheal tubes) and pain management (epidurals, peripheral nerve block catheters and needles) products.

This position prospects and executes against new business opportunities to exceed revenue targets, thereby growing overall market share and increasing utilization among existing accounts, while securing new users within the geography. The Sales Representative acts as a valuable resource to those involved in emergency medical procedures and facilitates improved patient care while increasing clinical value to medical professionals and Teleflex Incorporated.

The incumbent in this position implements sales plans and achieves sales goals and objectives through the development of multi-level relationships within hospitals, pre-hospital, military and EMS providers. This position achieves sales goals through interface with clinicians -- particularly surgeons, anesthesiologists, nurse anesthesiologists, paramedics, members of the surgical team and various health care professionals in operating rooms, EMS groups and surgical centers, as well as hospital administration and procurement teams.

Reporting to a Country Manager, this role ensures the maximization of territory sales, profitability, and future business opportunities.

  • Implement sales plan and achieve sales goals and objectives set for the geographic territory. Maintain existing customers and prospect and gain new business. Exceed quota.
  • Facilitate sales growth by providing training and account in-servicing to medical directors, physicians, paramedics, nurses, EMTs and administrators. Educate customers on products and product use, procedures, and industry trends.
  • Develop and maintain an in-depth profile on each account to include customer preferences, competitive products and field intelligence, market activity, important contact/decision makers, customer feedback, and attendees in-serviced. Use  effectively.
  • Use business analytic tools and territory knowledge to conduct strategic territory management business plans.
