Job Description: Reporting to the Manager or designate for the area of province they are working, the Emergency Medical Services - EMT/PCP responds to emergency and non-emergency events. and provides assessment, treatment and transportation of the ill or injured persons consistent with The Saskatchewan Ambulance Act and Regulations;
Saskatchewan College of Paramedics (SCoP) Clinical Practice Protocols;
The Paramedics Act and bylaws; and Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) policies, procedures and work standards.

Human Resources Exemption: No

Education

  • Primary Care Paramedic Certificate from an approved educational institute

Licenses

  • Valid Class 4 driver's license

Other Education and Training

  • Basic Life Support Certificate (BLS)
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Certificate (CPR)
  • International Trauma Life Support Certificate (ITLS)

  • Ability to function effectively in high stress and in emergency situations

  • Demonstrated ability to use sound clinical judgement
  • Decision making through the application of knowledge and critical thinking
  • Able to safely and consistently lift/load stretcher on a regular basis

  • Registered/eligible with the Saskatchewan College of Paramedics at PCP/EMT level
