Community Residential Worker

McCallum Home is seeking five relief Community Residential Workers to start immediately. You will engage directly with individuals, focusing on their unique needs and preferences, while implementing least restrictive behavior support strategies. Our ideal candidate embraces challenges, promotes self-determination, and uses effective communication to build trust and rapport.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct support to individuals with developmental disabilities

• Implement individualized behavior support strategies

• Drive and transport clients safely as needed

• Assist with daily living activities and life skills development

• Maintain a calm and neutral demeanor during behavioral escalations

Requirements:

• 2-3 years post-secondary education in human services

• Experience working with individuals with complex behaviors

• Strong communication and de-escalation skills

• Patient, empathetic, and non-judgmental attitude

• Legally eligible to operate a vehicle supplied by the Ministry
