About the Role

We are building an infrastructure management platform from scratch. We're hiring an Engineering Manager who can lead and elevate a team of exceptional engineers, make key product decisions, and deliver high-impact projects that help us scale the platform to the next two orders of magnitude.

As an Engineering Manager with the Platform Team, you'll lead some of the most exciting products we've built—driving execution and raising the bar for the entire team. You will own critical systems end-to-end and set the technical bar for the team. We expect EMs to drive real outcomes while building a team culture that's intense, collaborative, and uncompromising on quality.

What Makes a Successful EM at Intuitive
  • Operate with extreme ownership, high agency, and thrive in ambiguity:
You deliver results even when thrown into ambiguity with incomplete information
  • Have strong product intuition and judgment:
You make good product calls with incomplete context and translate product intent into clear, executable milestones
  • Drive operational excellence:
You are highly organized, track progress closely, surface risks early, and create clarity and momentum
  • Actively coach and level up engineers:
You set a high bar, give direct feedback, and help engineers grow faster than they would elsewhere
  • Bring exceptional work ethic, maturity, and resilience:
You perform above expectations on our IC culture rubric and handle pressure and feedback without ego
  • Have a strong technical background in Infrastructure Engineering:
You are technical in nature and can weigh in on complex tradeoffs
  • Take ownership of projects:
You drive them towards completion while dealing with ambiguity and finding the right balance between speed and quality—you don't need every detail and edge case
  • spelled out because you can figure out the goals and fill in the blanks
  • Focus on impact:
You have a strong understanding of how you can create the most impact, and don't get lost in the weeds on details that don't matter—you're excited to work on whatever solves the biggest customer problems, not just the coolest technical challenges
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing team of software and platform engineers
  • Foster a culture of engineering excellence, ownership, and psychological safety
  • Balance delivery commitments with sustainable engineering practices
Platform Ownership
  • Own the roadmap and execution of the Platform Orchestrator product
  • Own execution across planning, delivery, and production operations
  • Partner with Platform Architects to define platform capabilities, priorities, and success metrics
  • Act as the voice of internal/external platform users (developers, SREs, infra teams)
  • Ensure platform abstractions are intuitive, reliable, and scalable
  • Measure and improve platform effectiveness
Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Work closely with application engineering, Dev Ex, Infra, and Security teams
  • Communicate platform capabilities, constraints, and changes clearly
  • Influence stakeholders without direct authority
  • Drive platform adoption across the organization
Required Qualifications
  • 10+ years of overall software engineering experience
  • 5+ years of experience in hands-on positions in Dev Ops, platform engineering, or infrastructure
  • 2+ years…
