Surface Mill Maintenance Supervisor (Utilities)
Where will you work: Onsite – Colonsay, Saskatchewan
(Colonsay is located approximately 42 miles from City of Saskatoon, with an average driving time of about 45 minutes)
About the role
The Surface Maintenance Supervisor (Utilities) is responsible for providing safe, effective leadership and direction to a team of surface maintenance employees. This role ensures that all maintenance activities are executed efficiently, safely, and in alignment with operational goals.

What will you do?
Team Leadership & Scheduling
Supervise and schedule a team consisting of scaffolders, carpenters and plumbers that provide maintenance services for the surface infrastructure.
Manage short- and long-term contractors to support operational needs as required.
Safety & Compliance
Promote and enforce safe work practices.
Participate in safety audits, inspections, and incident investigations.
Maintenance Planning & Execution
Coordinate daily maintenance plans to minimize downtime and support production targets.
Collaborate with planners to develop daily, weekly, monthly, and annual maintenance goals.
Work Order & Resource Management
Manage assigned work orders and initiate service requests.
Troubleshoot equipment issues and ensure timely procurement of required materials.
Liaise with warehouse and procurement teams to align inventory with maintenance needs.
Documentation & Reporting
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including job histories, schematics, and equipment manuals.
Update PMs, work instructions, and SOPs to ensure compliance with safety and health standards.
Provide clear updates and reports to stakeholders on progress and issues.
What you’ll need:
5-10 years’ experience in supervising in an industrial facility.
Journeyperson (Red Seal) in a related trade or equivalent
Proficiency with MS Office, SAP/S4
HANA, and other relevant software tools.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with proven leadership ability
Must be authorized to work in Canada.
