ABOUT

THE ROLE

The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for maintenance activities at the Dundas Quarry which is Amrize's largest mining operation in Eastern Canada. The Maintenance Supervisor’s primary focus is to help lead the health and safety of the maintenance department while leveraging maintenance excellence to achieve optimized plant reliability at the lowest overall cost. The Maintenance Supervisor will lead by example supporting alignment with all functional groups, including Safety, Environment, Land, and Manufacturing driving communication and consistency while meeting all necessary Safety & Environmental policies and regulations.

WHAT

YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH
  • Help facilitate a site level safety culture through consistent engagement with employees and contractors with an objective of “zero” harm.
  • Lead daily huddles to demonstrate commitment to workplace safety and ensure front line employee compliance to health & safety policies.
  • Assist in the preparation for and participation in periodic health & safety and environmental site audits.
  • Assist in the administration of the site Contractor Safety Management program and audit contractor performance.
  • Support the administration and management of local collective and hourly working agreements.
  • Directly responsible for the motivation, scheduling, and training of all production personnel to promote operational efficiency.
  • Establish and manage maintenance schedules and drive the meeting of daily maintenance targets.
  • Participate in the short-term and long-term planning and execution of maintenance, including managing maintenance backlogs.
  • Assist in the development and adherence to annual maintenance budgets and identify cost reduction opportunities.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviours.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
  • Education:Grade 12 Diploma; a College Degree in Engineering or Business is a definite asset.
  • Experience:Minimum of five years Supervisory/Managerial experience working in a similar environment.
  • Trades:Experience in Welding and or Millwright trade is a definite asset.
  • Technical

    Skills:

    Proficiency with various computer applications including Excel, Word, Power Point, and SAP.
  • Industry Knowledge:Knowledge of the aggregate industry is preferred.
  • Soft Skills:Strong analytical, problem-solving, time management, and communication skills.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Understanding of general accounting principles is an asset.
  • Good organization and planning skills.
  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
