Caretaker, Building Maintenance, Maintenance Technician ​/ Mechanic

Responsible to the Property Coordinator. The Caretaker will maintain and do minor repairs of the building and grounds at assigned North Star Supportive Housing properties.

Responsibilities

Maintain a daily, weekly, monthly and yearly cleaning schedule of tasks and maintain the interior and exterior of assigned buildings

Maintain grounds including parking lots as required (e.g. cut grass, plant flowers, water grounds, shovel snow, sweep steps, etc)

Small repair tasks as required such as minor plumbing, fixing cabinets, assembling furniture

Building security monitoring. Documenting internal concerns and contacting emergency services when necessary.

Assist tenants as need arises (e.g. locked out, faulty appliances, etc.) in a timely manner

Advise the Coordinator of program issues or concerns related to above

Maintain equipment in good working condition

Maintain the maintenance storage areas in an orderly and safe condition

Organize, effectively communicate with and review the work done by private contractors as approved or instructed by the supervisor

Identify, report and deal with any potential health and safety issue that may present
