At Sandvik, Ground Support Division, the Maintenance Lead is responsible for providing technical support and expertise in Mechanical or Electrical maintenance. The Lead will maintain and improve components, equipment or systems to improve or keep high reliability, overall equipment values and cost efficiency.

What you will be doing
Performs mechanical skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, minor electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic troubleshooting, maintenance and repair of manufacturing equipment, machines and facilitiesPerforms emergency / unscheduled repairs of production and packaging equipmentPerforms scheduled maintenance inspections and repairs of production and packaging equipmentEnsure Maintenance software is kept up to date with PM/Reactive maintenance recorded accurately.Reads and interprets equipment manuals, engineering drawings, work orders, and other information sources, to perform required maintenance and servicingResponsible for knowing and following all Standard Operating Procedures, OSHA, Sandvik Mining and Site Safety and Health rules including maintaining a safe-work environment by enforcing a strict standard of housekeeping in the immediate and surrounding work areas utilizing 5S principles.Provide input and recommendations for equipment purchases and replacement.Recognize unsafe acts and correct the situation, making suggestions on creating a safe and healthy work environment.Communicate with co-workers, management, and others in a courteous and professional manner.Troubleshoots presses, furnaces, threaders. conveyors, saws and automated production linesUses lathes, mills, welders and grinders to aid in repairs and maintenanceWorks closely with Production Supervisor on various projects and preventative maintenanceConforms with and abides by all regulations, policies, work procedures and instructionsCompletes other duties as assigned to meet business needs.Planning for correct tools and parts required to perform tasks, according to all workComplete maintenance reports for internal and external stakeholders e.g., report and document on maintenance and/or repairs completed.Assign simple tasks to junior staff and guide them in their completion.Environmental Health and Safety
Complies with Sandvik Mining safety policies and applicable government, customer or industry regulations or requirements.Responsibility to identify and report any unsafe work habits, workplace incidents and/or near misses. Perform risk assessments (“Take Five”) prior to each task.Maintains hand tools and equipment to ensure safe operation.Maintains orderly work area and ensures housekeeping requirements are met.Attend Environmental, Health and Safety related trainings.Wear the required personal protective equipment (PPE) assigned for each task.What you will bring along
Red Seal Certified with 2-5 years’ experience in an industrial environment.Solid hands-on experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, and automated systems.Responsible for knowing and following all Standard Operating Procedures, Occupational Health & Safety, and site rules including maintaining a safe work environment by enforcing strict standard of housekeeping in the immediate and surrounding work areas utilizing 5S principles.Responsible for familiarity with MSDS of the chemicals used in the manufacturing processSelf-motivated, analytical, and accountableStrong leadership and problem-solving skillsBasic computer skillsDemonstrated positive attitude and work ethicAbility to understand and provide troubleshooting on all equipment.Continually strives for improvementEagerness to learn and take on more responsibilityAbility to complete tasks in a timely manner and seek more opportunitiesOffers additional help when requiredWilling and able to learn how to maintain new equipmentAbility to work effectively in a multifunctional self-managed work groupWhat We Offer:
